Meet and Taste the King Crab

About this adventure

Visit us in the authentic, colourful, northernmost fishing village in the world, at Skarsvåg tourist centre. Arriving in our village, you will see the lively harbour where the fishermen are at work. You will have time to explore this iconic village, as well as our world-famous gallery and a local shop with handmade artefacts.  

We will visit our aquarium, which is home to a group of king crabs; the famous Vikings of Northern Norway, the mascots of the fjords. We will organize a show for you where you get to hold the king crab and learn all about them. You have the opportunity to take your photo holding this famous king crab. Step by and learn all about how we take care of this animal and how they became the kings of Norway.

Afterwards, you get to taste this international delicacy in our cosy Laavu or restaurant, to see why this is such a popular dish in the entire world (canape with 30gram fresh king crab). You will have a beautiful view upon the lively harbour. It is also possible to upgrade to a larger king crab- and seafood plate if you want the full experience.

Transport from Honningsvåg to Skarsvåg and back is not included in the activity but could be offered for bigger groups, please contact us if transport is needed.
